LIVE CHARTPivot Point ACTIVE
[ HOW TO READ THE CHART ]
Green Zone: Price opens above PP and holds → Bullish bias: buy pullbacks to PP
Red Zone: Price opens below PP and holds → Bearish bias: sell bounces to PP
Main Line: R1 test + RSI > 70 + divergence → Intraday short zone
Confluence: Combine Pivot Point with VWAP for maximum probability
[ WHAT TO WATCH ON THE CHART ]
Observe how Pivot Point behaves relative to key price points. Note moments when the indicator reaches extreme levels and how price reacts. Look for divergence patterns between the indicator and price movement.
[ FORMULA ]
PP = (High + Low + Close) / 3
R1 = 2×PP - Low   |   S1 = 2×PP - High
R2 = PP + (High - Low)   |   S2 = PP - (High - Low)
R3 = High + 2×(PP - Low)   |   S3 = Low - 2×(High - PP)

What signals does Pivot Point generate?

Price opens above PP and holds → Bullish bias: buy pullbacks to PP
Price opens below PP and holds → Bearish bias: sell bounces to PP
R1 test + RSI > 70 + divergence → Intraday short zone
S1 test + RSI < 30 + divergence → Intraday long zone
R2 break with volume → Strong trend day, target R3
PP + VWAP coincide → Double liquidity zone: very important

What is Pivot Point and how does it work?

Pivot Points are mathematically calculated support and resistance levels derived from the OHLC (Open, High, Low, Close) data of the previous period. Historically used by floor traders in the pits of physical exchanges before the computer era, they remain among the most effective tools for intraday trading. Their popularity is also the key to their effectiveness: when millions of traders watch the same levels calculated from the same algorithm, the levels become self-fulfilling prophecy zones. Several variants exist: Classic (standard formula), Fibonacci (uses Fib percentages instead of arithmetic), Camarilla (uses Close and previous day's range), Woodie's (weights Close twice), DM (uses Open and Close to calculate PP).

How do you use Pivot Point in trading?

Pivot Points are used in three contexts: 1) SESSION BIAS (the most important): Like VWAP divides the session by volume, Pivot Point divides it by the previous day's data. If price opens above PP and stays above in the first 30-60 minutes → bullish bias for the entire session. Buy pull-backs toward PP. If it opens below → bearish bias, sell bounces to PP. 2) TARGET AND STOP LEVELS: R1 is the first bullish target (regular session), R2 is the second. S1 is the first support, S2 the second. In a 'normal' session, price moves between PP and R1 or between PP and S1. R2 and S2 are reached on strongly directional days. R3 and S3 are reached on strong trend days or macro events. 3) REVERSAL ZONES: When price reaches R1 or S1 and stalls → possible intraday reversal zone. The PP Pivot + nearby VWAP combination is the most reliable intraday reversal zone. In Forex sessions, Weekly Pivots are widely used to identify weekly ranges. 4) RULE OF 4 (for Fibonacci Pivots): When price breaks R1 with strength, it often goes directly to R2 without stopping halfway. This 'rule of 4 handles' is used by floor traders: 4 large figures of movement = next level.

What are the strengths of Pivot Point?

Objective and automatic: no subjectivity in drawing
Used by millions of traders: self-fulfilling
Automatically updates every session
Provides target and stop levels immediately

What are the limitations of Pivot Point?

Less effective on 24/7 crypto without defined open/close
In strong trends, PP can be completely ignored
Too many levels can generate confusion
