What is Trading
Trading is the activity of buying and selling financial instruments with the goal of generating profit from price variations. Unlike classical investing — which is based on fundamental value over the long term — trading exploits price movements in the short and medium term. To trade professionally you must understand market microstructure, the role of liquidity providers, the mechanics of order routing, and the macroeconomic forces that drive capital flows between asset classes.
Trading vs Investing
Warren Buffett is an investor: he buys Coca-Cola because he believes in the business and its cash flows. A day trader can buy and sell Coca-Cola on the same day without knowing or caring about the company — they care only about the order-flow imbalance and the next candle.
